İt is accepted that the most affective and the essential aim in rapidly developing Turkey is education for making progress. İn the age, it is not practicable to give vocational education in school system. There is one million young who entered on a career but not educated vocationally and this number is growing day by day. People who had compulsory primary education or who could not complete their secondary education for some reasons we are there as a model in Vocational Education System so as to convert people who are older than 14 years old and have compulsory education, secondary education and higher education into manpower that Turkey needs. Also we aim to bring working dicipline in business world, in addition to these , give our students social security advantege. Organizing vocational standart is our other target. Furthermore, we determine current occupations with analysis. The other target of our center is to rise production and quality in production it is known that best learning is done on working. And this can be realized by Vocational Education System. We wish you to benefit from this page that we prepared for people who want to take vocational education, giving information and to guide tradesmen and industrialists and parents. İn the beginning of the academic year for all first year students, and for 2nd and 3rd year students who needs clothing are given a suit , an overcoat a tie, a shirt and shoes are given by ANKARA CHAMBER OF INDUSTRY. Giving assistance and help for who can’t find a job.
VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IS THE CONTEMPORARY EDUCATION SYSTEM OF THE 21st CENTURY
Apprenticeship Education System was organized as reform with the Act numbered 3308 and dated 19.06.1986. After this Act a rapid development in the system was seen year by year. According to the Act, people who have compulsory pimary education and couldn’t continue for further education but want to have a career can be apprentice student. Appreticeship education is a system that teaches and gives knowledge, ability and skill about the job on work according to Apprentice Agreement. People who have compulsory primary education anda ged 15-16-17-18 and work to learn a job are taken and given vocational education to be qulified workers. Without signing Apprentice Agreement it was banned to employ apprentice age people in 113 job branchs that are covered by vocational education. Apprentice students are educated in working hours according to qualification of the job between 8-10 hours in theoric, cultural and vocational courses. They take their theoric courses in Vocational Education Centers or workplaces that have education units and practical education on work places. İn work places, master tutors are responsible for practical education. Students who enter Vocational Education have regular student rights and also they have salery about 30% of minimum salary. Furthermore, they have insurance for vocational diseases and accidents. Apprenticeship period takes 1-4 year according to the students education and qualification of the job. Those who finished this period are taken an examination and succesful students take “Foreman Certificate”. For those who have Mestership Certificate, work for a workplace and want to be a master can attend “Mastership Education” courses. İn this course the aim is to educate master as masters who can open and regulate their own work places. Those who are succesful in that education an worked 1-2 years (according to qualification of the job) ean take the masteship exam and if they pass they are given “Mastership Certificate” Masters who don’t have mastership education can take the mastership exam if they have 5 years experience in their area. Vocational secondary education graduates choose the area that they were educated in can take Mastership Exam after they have raised themselves practically. Graduates of higher Education can be employed as apprentices, skilled workers and masters if they take Mastership Education and having work place certicate in their area. For those who have mastership certificate can attend courses in work pedagogics for Master Tutors. Succesful ones who finished this 40 hours course are given “ Master Teaching Certificate”
ATTENTION: VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IS NOT OPTIONAL, BUT IT IS A COMPULSORY EDUCATION.
İf a teacher should have a teaching certicate, if an engineer should have an engineer certificate, if a lawyer certificate, “A MASTER SHOULD HAVE A MASTERSHIP CERTIFICATE. A MASTER WHO DOESN’T HAVE A MASTERSHIP CERTIFICATE RESEMBLES A DRIVER WHO DOESN’T HAVE A DRIVING LICIENCE.
AIMS OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION:
To give basic vocational education and help people to fin jobs who are inapprentice age but can’t or couldn’t g oto school, secondary or high schoolgrudates. Giving ssistance to youngs to choose suitable jobs who want to apprentice system. Raise people who are older than 14 and younger than 19 and older than 19 but have primary, secondary or higher education as masters fort he future. Giving social security in education period who are aged between 15-18 and at work. To determine foreman and mastership standarts. To give knowledge that can’t be taught in work places in labs and teaching units with modern tools. To bring discipline to business life. To develop technology, production and total quality. To develop people in their areas. To improve masters with Master Teaching courses.
ATTENTION: MAN POWER PROBLEM IS SOLVED BY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION BASIC REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER VOCATIONAL EDUCATION
To have primary compulsory education To be between 14-19 years old. To be good enough in health and personality fort he area. To sign apprentice agreement with the work place that has a Mastership. Master Teaching Certicate in the area. Each year, Registration for Vocational Education starts on 1st of jully and finishes at 31 st of August (Also in January and October registration can be done)
FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO OPEN A WORK PLACE SHOULD HAVE A MASTERSHIP CERTIFICATE IF THEIR WORK AREA IS COVERED BY APPRENTICE EDUCATION SYSTEM AND ONES WHO OLDER THAN 9 SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST FOREMAN CERTIFICATE IN WORK PLACE.

Apprentice students have social security and it is covered by the stat efor 30 days per month. Apprentice students are excluded from military services. They are paid about 30% of minimum salary. They have all regular student privilages. They can also take foreman and mastership courses.

ADVANTAGES OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION FOR THE EMPLOYER:
As the insurance cost is paid by the state, the employer takes an important advantage financially. The salary that teh employer pay to the apprentice is accepted as expenditure and therefor it is excluded from the tax. Eficiency of work rises. As appretice have agreements they can not change their Works in the way that they can cause problems fort he employer. Opening and regulating a work place is ruled so there is no way to open a work place superficially. As a result of cooperation with the school and work places the centers educate students in a way that the work needs.
VOCATIONAL EDUCATION CENTERS:
Vocational Education Centers were organized so as to solve qualified human work power problem in many areas as apprentice, foreman, master with the law of Vocational Education numbered 3308 in Turkey. Severally these centers were organized in developed or developing cities and administrative discrits where industry is wider and apprentice potential is high. Now in Turkey there are 345 Vocational Education Centers 81 cities. İn those centers in 113 branches totaly 400.000 apprencices are being educated.
OUR CENTER: Erkunt Vocational Education Center was founded in 1994 years in the temporary building which is the one of the first centers in Turkey. İt has been serving with is modern building and facilities that are constructed on 14000 square meters since 1993 years in the center there are 8 classrooms, 2 drawing units and 6 labs. |
